Comfortable Or Trapped?
Before I even get to the bread and butter of today’s column, I’m attaching a disclaimer…
A lot of people will automatically expect brutality in the type that follows, but it’s not like that. I’m attaching this because it’s often overlooked how much High Point University means to me. I’m very proud of my alma-mater. That doesn’t mean we ALWAYS have to agree on everything…especially sports related. Please keep that in mind.
The conference dating-realignment game, over? With the major players, John Swofford and the ACC was the blanket that put that fire out. But in recent weeks the SoCon, CAA, Atlantic Sun, and Big South have been playing a little shuffle board.
This weekend, the HPE revealed that HPU wants no part of it.
Despite my common sense selling — that now’s the time to be proactive — the Panthers would rather be that benchwarmer on the sideline. Eventually some of these “sit and wait” slug decisions, could make High Point even more of an afterthought. Something I don’t wanna see happen…
